Fort Hayes Metropolitan Education Center

Five historic buildings on this Civil War era army base suffered the neglect of 30 years of vacancy -- now, thanks to sensitive rehabilitation, they celebrate their historical significance while providing state-of-the-art educational space. These Columbus City School buildings have become a one-of-a-kind arts impact school. Fort Hayes High School houses a wide variety of classroom space for visual arts, math, science, foreign language, social studies, business, and English. A cafeteria, administrative offices, a media center, a dance studio and physical education facilities are also part of the complex.
