Utah Capitol receives state honors

Columbus, 9/5/2008 - Schooley Caldwell Associates recently received good news about our project to restore the Utah State Capitol . . . the Utah State Board of History has honored it with the 2008 Outstanding Achievement Award! We are so proud to have been part of the Capitol Restoration Group — an Association of VCBO Architects and MJSA Architects of Salt Lake City and SCA — who restored this exceptional building. This was an on-time, on-budget effort that involved everything from seismic base isolation requiring the entire building to be raised off its foundation to the complete replacement of all engineering systems and the restoration of key historic spaces.
